History
The Snorrason family is well known in Iceland because of the entrepreneurial work of Snorri Snorrason, Snr (1940-2003) who pioneered the shrimp industry in Iceland.
With a diverse range of interests including owning several fishing vessels and a fish processing plant, Snorri even created (as a side effect) the first competition to then de-facto monopoly airline Icelandair during the 1990s.
The current ship bearing the family's well-known EA-317 registration number is Snorri, a 23 ton vessel based out of Dalvík's harbour used for whale watching and sea angling for tourists.
